AG Race 2010: The Prosecutor vs. The Bureaucrat
This past week J.B. welcomed former DNR Secretary Scott Hassett to the 2010 AG’s race. The match up will provide voters a stark contrast between J.B.’s experience as Attorney General and a prosecutor on the county, state and federal levels versus a former government bureaucrat with no prosecution experience whatsoever.
Here is what J.B. had to say:
“I’ve returned the focus of the Department of Justice to fighting crime and assisting local law enforcement. And in the process we’ve demonstrated the importance of rising above partisan politics and putting the citizens of Wisconsin first. I welcome Scott and I think our very different backgrounds will provide voters a clear contrast next November.”

Crime Lab helps in Arrest of 30-year-old Double Murder
Readers of J.B.’s Journal know there has been a dramatic difference at the Crime Lab since J.B. took over the Department of Justice. His efforts have helped local law enforcement take dangerous criminals off the streets, including in several cold-cases.
Late last week J.B. along with law enforcement officials in Jefferson County announced the arrest of a suspect in a 30-year-old double homicide. The investigative work by local law enforcement and the State Crime Lab’s efforts led police in Kentucky to arrest the suspect in this cold case.

Criminal Illegal Aliens Arrested in Waukesha County
J.B.’s continued efforts to work with federal and local law enforcement led to the arrest of 11 Mexican nationals known to be involved with criminal gang activity. The arrests are part of a cooperative effort to turn over criminal illegal alien gang members to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation.
Under J.B.’s leadership the Department of Justice has assisted in the arrest of 243 criminal illegal aliens since October of 2008. You can find out more about J.B.’s efforts on illegal immigration by clicking here.
